Dakar Feels A Little Blue
[2023]
Salty lips whispered love in Baobab's shadow, a dance in cool dunes.
Trade winds carried promises, echoes of delight - the sun our tunes.
Yet, in the glistening mosaic of smiles, dwelt a sorrow, slyly imbued.
Our feet traced patterns on beaches, while hearts unspoken truths exuded.
Nectar of us became both cure and venom, the paradox we brewed,
Waves we rode, high and low, within life’s relentless tide pursued.
The Atlantic bore witness, its rhythm the score of our fatal feud,
A serenade so sweet, beneath its current, the bitterest interlude.
Love, like sahelian rain, fleeting, left marks in our solitude.
Now Dakar feels a little blue, bathed in gratitude and regret's hue.
